Welcome to Sabastiya
Welcome to the website of Sabatiya.
Sabastiya is a small Palestinian town of an estimated 2,900 inhabitants located on a hill in the Nablus Governorate of the West Bank some 10 kilometers northwest of the city of Nablus.
The hill is surrounded by a fertile valley, where figs, olives, almonds, grapes and other vegatables and friuts were grown.
Because of its long history Sabastiya is the home of a number of important archaeological monuments. Even today you can see the ruins around the hill and you can feel the power of six successive cultures dating back 10,000 years: Canaanite, Israelite, Hellenistic, Herodian, Roman and Byzantine.
